Care & Maintenance

A common misconception, or rather- afterthought, with fine jewelry is the care and maintenance that should go into each piece. Think of it this way, if you were to purchase a vehicle, you’d expect the usual oil changes, cleanings, tire rotations, repairs, etc. A purchase so important it becomes second nature to be mindful of it’s condition, the more often you do, the longer it’ll last- The same is true for fine jewelry, diamonds and gemstones. 

Most of our pieces at Cavalier are made-to-order with ethically sourced, premium gemstones, diamonds and gold materials, handcrafted to an exceptional quality that is built to last. Unless of course, you forgot to take your ring off before mountain biking and suffered from a questionable tumble. 

GENERAL CARE 

A simple first step is to not wear your rings, earrings, necklaces or bracelets during any high intensity activity. Generally speaking, the faster you're moving or the more you’re sweating, the higher the chances your piece could get caught on something. If you’re about to go rock climbing, hiking, to the gym, skiing, snowboarding, any/all water sports (it’s rare to have a “Titanic” moment where you find your ring at the bottom of the ocean) or moving/lifting any heavy objects, it’s best to take your rings and things off. 

Store your pieces somewhere safe where they wont knock against other hard metals or surfaces, either at home or in a small soft bag close by if you’re on the go. 

We recommend bringing your pieces in for a deep clean and an annual general maintenance check. This allows us to make sure each stone is secured safe and sound in your setting, and that your jewels are as sparkly as the day you got them! 

CLEAN THEM AT HOME 

Keep up with quick cleanings at home as often as you like, all you need is a soft bristle toothbrush, some warm water and detergent free dish soap. 
Soak your rings in hot water with dish soap (approximately ½ tsp for our specific friends out there), let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Pull your ring out of the water, gently and mindfully brush around the centre stone, setting and band to loosen up any grime or grease. Pop it back in the water for another 10-15 minutes, rinse and dry off with a paper towel, then polish with a cloth to finish. Boom, back to brilliance! 


MANUFACTURING WARRANTY 

Cavalier provides each of our clients with a complimentary two year manufacturing warranty from date of purchase. Anything evaluated by our team as a manufacturing defect within the two year warranty period will be repaired or replaced at no additional cost.
